What is NOT in pariQU

Formulating skincare products that are gentle yet effective and enjoyable to use can be very exciting and challenging at the same time.

With our policy of 99% to 100% natural/botanical ingredients and vegan, we take time to study each ingredient.

We will never use ingredients that are from animal sources or known skin irritants. As a precautionary action, we also avoid those potentially animal-derived ingredients.

Here are some ingredients that we will never use in our products.

1. Hyaluronic Acid

Commercial grade hyaluronic acid is commonly extracted from animal parts such as joints and rooster/chicken combs.

At pariQu, we don't use hyaluronic acid, instead we use an alternative skin conditioner which is purely extracted from plants.

2. Beeswax, Honey and Lanolin

As a true botanical brand, we will never use beeswax, honey, lanolin and other animal-derived ingredients in our products.

3. Parabens

Parabens are commonly used preservatives in beauty and pharmaceutical products. However, over the years, there has been a lot of controversy over the safety of parabens. As a precautionary action, we don't use them in our products.

4. Phenoxyethanol

Phenoxyethanol is often used as a substitute for parabens. Although it is considered as an effective preservative, phenoxyethanol can trigger certain skin conditions such as eczema and contact dermatitis.

5. Sodium Laureth Sulphate and Sodium Lauryl Sulphate

Often used in shampoos, body washes, these two foaming agents can dry out skin and causing imbalances.

6. Alcohol (Alcohol Denat)

The main ingredients in most perfumes, alcohol is often used in skincare as a preservative. It can dry out skin, makes skin more prone to irritation.

7. Synthetic Fragrance (Parfum)

Be it synthetic or natural, fragrance (parfum) can be highly irritating to your skin. At pariQu, we prefer to use low concentration of natural essential oils extracted from plants to enhance the efficacy of our products.

8. Petrochemicals

Derived from petroleum, petrochemicals such as mineral oils, propylene glycol and others are widely used in beauty industry for many different purposes. At pariQu, we prefer to use higher quality ingredients such as botanical oils and extracts rather than petrochemicals.
